Sonic Illusions

Lightweight Transport

The lightweight transport was designed as a more portable version of the Ti48 to allow for demonstration of various DACs.  It uses a fanless Mini-ITX motherboard combined with a high-efficiency ATX DC-DC converter to considerably reduce power consumption and noise generation.

The picture above shows a conventional 2.5" HD, but that has now been replaced with a Solid State drive for the ultimate in quietness.  The DVD-ROM drive is vibration isolated with sorbothane, and the mesh is grounded to provide some RFI shielding.

The transport has plenty of CPU headroom, and could comfortably run fast convolution to perform room correction or digital crossovers.
